The European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) has the potential to benefit consumers by opening up markets that Big Tech has dominated for too long. But this potential will not be fulfilled unless the European Commission acts decisively to ensure the DMA is fully implemented. In the face of Big Tech gatekeepers dragging their feet, and now enlisting the US Government to fight off EU laws, the EU must hold its ground or lose its credibility, argue Vanessa Turner and Sébastien Pant. It is for Europe to decide on its laws to safeguard its consumers and all companies that operate in Europe must abide by these laws.
